Before CAAP Afrika started its activities, in Niger there were only three surgeons for 15 million people.

Therefore, the association decided to focus on training, providing Nigerians interns at the end of their school program in general surgery, with all means to treat correctly the large number of patients that gathered every day in Niamey National Hospital. So they can train young interns afterwards.

To this aim, CAAP Afrika organizes, in Europe, in collaboration with the “Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace” of Monaco, a year of training in orthopedic and traumatology surgery, giving africans students the possibility to follow an intensive surgical training module attested by a university degree.

Learning sessions take into account the needs of the students’ country and are followed up by a distance learning system over the Internet for at least four years.
