The godfathers
For a musician or an artist of some kind, inspiration is the life breath. There are many beautiful things in this world, the oceans, the mountains. Nature in all its beauty brings us many forms of inspiration. I have found though, that I am most deeply inspired by people and not necessarily artists. Human beings who give themselves and of themselves to other human beings in order to help them is the profoundest inspiration I have experienced. It is for this reason that I have associated myself with Caap Afrika. Caap Afrika is a name for an association, but the people behind Caap Afrika are a source of true inspiration to me, and I am honored to have the opportunity to work with them and help them in any way I can.http://www.johnmclaughlin.com |

“My dear friends .. I am humbled by what I have read and seen about this situation. I am sending love and prayers to the dear people in this plight. As I live a million miles away, in this day and age life is in real time. You can see it on TV but TV is not real. Its snapshit of reality. The wonderful soulful people who live this everyday.. well God Bless you and remember there are people around the globe that do care, Information is key and lets spread the word. God Bless and remember: ONE WORLD, ONE LOVE!” Steve Lukather (Toto) http://www.stevelukather.net |
When Massimo asked me to be a godfather of Caap Afrika I said spontaneosly OUI! Why? Even to hesitate a bit whould have meant that I had forgotten what I have seen in Niger and surrounding countries. It would mean that my heart would not see anymore my fellow human beings. I think often the living conditions of those who live – or rather try to survive – over there. What about if I was born there instead of Finland? What would have my life been like? We extremely privileged forget that none of us have chosen our birthplace! Our duty is to help them to help themselves. In dignity. We all deserve hope in our lives because then we can overcome any obstacles. The better world starts when we heed the advice of Jesus: “What you want to be done to yourself do it to your neighbour”.
